December 10, 2014 marks the go-ahead for the world’s first #LiveStartup Snappshot. Millions of people around the globe can now follow the development and market launch of the location-based photo app Snappshot – from the corporate startup phase right through to the planned stock market launch slated for 2019. What’s more, in weekly Facebook and Twitter voting rounds, YOU can influence a wide range of strategic decisions, thereby becoming part of the German technology startup.
The idea behind the Snappshot mobile application is to help smartphone users always find the ideal picture-taking angle at favorite photo hotspots. To do this, the app compares the user’s location with geo-data from other users who have already photographed the same location or sight. Based on this the app then determines the perfect photo angle from the aggregate location data – the “Snappshot”.
The founder of the Snappshot startup is 40-year-old Sven Lilienström from the town of Kaarst, North Rhine-Westphalia, and his team at the rheingewinn marketing & public relations agency.
The need to share life’s moments with other people – increasingly in visual form – via social networks has been experiencing a boom for years. Furthermore, it is expected that more than a billion people will own a smartphone by 2015. With Snappshot we want all smartphone enthusiasts to benefit from tangible added value.
Lilienström emphases the success of startup reality shows like Shark Tank and Dragons’ Den.
This demonstrates the extent of interest in the public presentation and evaluation of innovative founder ideas.
With Snappshot we are taking this approach one step further. We are the first startup to actively involve our fans and followers in important decision-making processes and allow them an in-depth look into the day-to-day operations of a young technology startup – with all its ups and downs. This cuts through the gloss and ensures full transparency.
A free version of the app for iOS and Android devices is scheduled to be available for download from the App and Play Store in fall 2015.
